1st Bath SIAM-IMA Student Chapter Annual Conference

Dear SIAM UKIE blog readers,

It is a pleasure to announce that the University of Bath SIAM-IMA Student Chapter will be hosting a local student conference on 1st March 2017.

Details of the provisional program and registration are now available at the following webpage: http://people.bath.ac.uk/br275/siam-ima/student-conference-2017/.

All PhD students in the country are welcome to attend, and we would like to invite applications to present either a short talk or a poster on the day. We strongly reccommend postgraduate students from nearby universities (like Bristol, Cardiff, Oxford, Exeter, Reading, etc) to apply. Partial funding is available for those either preseting a poster or giving a talk.

This one day meeting is a great opportunity to discuss your research with fellow PhD students, and to share your work via a talk or poster in a relaxed environment. We also plan to have talks from two plenary speaker, details of which will follow soon.

Both SIAM and the IMA promote the applications of mathematics, but we hope that a wide range of research will be represented. We welcome talks and posters on any areas of applied mathematics, computational mathematics and statistics, and any mathematics which has current or potential applications to industry.

Please follow this link https://goo.gl/forms/gRiypuexGHYufjXB3 to register to attend and let us know whether you would like to give a talk about your research or to present a poster, by 1st February. Registration is free, but mandatory so that we know numbers in advance.
